Above Mundanity: Version I (2022)
Artist Statement: "Above Mundanity" is my newest version of the Above series. My photographs examine life’s mundanity. The parts of our days that vanish from our memory, the moments in which we believe “nothing” happened. Photographing the city’s transport hubs and public spaces from above, I investigate the commonalities between public spaces -- the shared experiences between subjects whether that be commute, destinations, or destiny -- and the relationship between passing time and the present moment. These spaces don’t care about your wealth, life experience, gender, or age. The spaces don’t care about how you are, who you are, or what you are. The only thing that matters is the fact that you are existing in this place at this point in time.
